I’ve said it on previous posts, but I don’t think that it can’t be repeated enough times: by buying individual stocks (or bonds) you are gambling and speculating with your money. Don’t do it! I’ve posted before interviews with Kenneth French that prove this point, but I have another interview for you. This time from John Bogle -founder of the Vanguard Group. Note how when he was making his point, the interviewer shifted the attention to other issues (could it be because CNBC promotes stock picking day after day?).

Prof. French is professor in Finance at the Tuck School of Business, Darmouth College. He is author of numerous articles that have been published in publications as the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, among others.
